Get ready for a vibrant night of local music! Join us for Fet Lamizik Dan Moka on Friday 21st of June, from 6pm to 10pm at the Telfair Amphitheater for a free open-air concert. This event features renowned artists and promises an unforgettable evening. Here's a glimpse of what you can expect...

The second edition of Fet Lamizik Dan Moka invites Mauritians to come together and celebrate local artists, making art and culture accessible to all. Blakkayo will captivate you with his reggae, seggae, and dancehall, while Patyatann, AyoZaad, and Babani Records will transport you to their diverse musical worlds. 

In its first edition, over 3,000 people gathered at the Telfair Amphitheater to enjoy a variety of musical styles, from traditional Indo-Mauritian music to rock, including seggae and sega tipik. “We are excited to present this new program, which blends traditional music with contemporary music. The featured artists embody the richness of Mauritian identity and its multiculturalism,” says Mathieu Pigeot, Arts and Culture Manager of Moka Smart City. 

This year, everything is set to make you groove. “The lineup and production are top-notch, and the food vendors are preparing tantalizing menus,” emphasizes the Arts and Culture Manager. Come and enjoy this event for all ages, set against the picturesque backdrop of the Moka mountain range.

Blakkayo

Formerly a member of OSB Crew, Blakkayo sings about the authenticity of Mauritius, far from postcard images. His reggae, seggae, and dancehall awaken awareness while celebrating Mauritian musical culture.

This collective brings together international talents like Jason Heerah, an Australian with  Mauritian roots, Cameroonian singer/guitarist Ophélie Sauteur, Emlyn, and DJ/Producer Ribongia. Their music draws inspiration from Indian Ocean traditions and its African, Indian, and European heritage to create a captivating musical fusion.

Patyatann

This group, consisting of five versatile musicians (Sarasvati Mallac, Anthony Bouic, Kan Chan Kin, Cledy François, and Stephan Paul), has been exploring Mauritius’ cultural diversity since 2012. With Indian, Chinese, European, and African influences, they play various traditional instruments, creating a rich sound enhanced by multilingual vocals.
