The Moka Smart City team shone bright during the ENL Marketing Excellence Awards
The team was doubly rewarded: on the one hand for the launch of the Moka’mwad Collective, and on the other for the organisation of the Moka Art Festival. These two projects were singled out by the jury for the Branding and Event Marketing categories respectively. The team was also nominated for awards in the Design and Print Advertising categories at the event, which was held at Vivea Business Park, Moka on April 11th.
The winning team was made up of Mikaël Le Luron, Head of Marketing at ENL Property, Raphaëlle Lamusse, Moka Brand Manager, Ketty Lim Ka Lan, Citizens Collective and Events Manager, and Rodney Napaul, Digital Marketing Assistant. The competition recognised and celebrated the most significant achievements rooted in this year’s chosen theme, “MEANINGFUL.”
The Moka Smart City Marketing team has faced a number of challenges. Since its creationten years ago, this project has established itself as a pioneer in territorial marketing, notably with the launch of the « Moka, le cœur de l’île » (“Moka, the heart of the island”) campaigns. Its goal: to place Moka on the map of “cities” that matter. “Today, we are promoting experiences and a lifestyle. We are bringing to the fore the city’s « Live, Work, Play, Care » values, particularly through our events: the Moka Art Festival, the Moka Plant Festival, the Moka Trail and more recently, the Moka Tennis Open. To us, all of these constitute experiences that are unique and enriching in equal measure,” explains Mikaël Le Luron.
This reward reflects the team’s enthusiasm and desire to go the extra mile. “This is an excellent chance to contribute to the development of a city, to work towards enriching the lives of its inhabitants. Even more so because this is the work of a private company whose leaders have a certain sense of belonging to the area, being habitants of Moka, themselves. I am so proud to be a part of this project that envisions a beautiful future for Moka!” shares Raphaëlle Lamusse with enthusiasm.
This attachment to the Moka region and its people is clearly perceived through the creation of the Moka’mwad Collective. “We are developing a city with the aim of making it “smart”; and this development can only thrive if it is built around its inhabitants. The Collective’s objective is to bring together former and current habitants of Moka and encourage them to contribute to the evolution of their city, all together,” discloses Ketty Lim Ka Lan.
In the same spirit, Rodney Napaul emphasises the values that drive the team daily: sincerity, authenticity, and the value of teamwork. “The greatest challenge in this type of project is the ability to adapt quickly, because a city is in constant evolution,” he concludes.
