The city centre of Moka will welcome you with its shops, restaurants and offices in just two years’ time. Here’s an update on how work is progressing.
Work at Telfair is on pace, supported by local and international investors who are confident about this ambitious project, as well as Moka Smart City users who are looking forward to enjoying this lively neighbourhood and its various facilities. The western area under construction
Infrastructure work will be completed by September 2022 on the 9 plots that make up this area. They are situated on the west side of the PwC building with sizes ranging from 1,700m² to 5,700m² for the construction of buildings with ground-floor retail space and offices.
Telfair Les Showrooms, an area providing high visibility for businesses
Six new plots of land have recently been put up for sale along Royal Road in Moka, opposite the MBC building. This area has been named “Telfair Les Showrooms” and is intended to provide a showcase for businesses that want to enjoy high visibility from a major road. The infrastructure work will start soon.
Oficea, a key player in the development of Telfair
Oficea is actively involved in the construction of the future city centre and currently oversees two large-scale projects. The first one consists in marketing The Echo, a 5,289m² office development available for sale off-plan (VEFA) on one of the plots of land in the western part of Telfair. These offices are a jewel of modern architecture with large bay windows and privileged access to the shops and restaurants along La Promenade.
Oficea has also launched the construction of buildings around the Amphitheatre and Square in the heart of Telfair. They will be built as follows: underground parking, ground-floor retail space and offices on the upper floors. Marketing is already well underway and the delivery of four buildings is scheduled for the last quarter of 2023. The construction of a fifth one is already under consideration. The developer is also looking for a business hotel operator to develop the sixth plot in the area, located directly on Telfair Square.
Telfair Apartments, an instant hit
Just a couple of steps away from the Amphitheatre, construction is about to start on a 60-apartment residential building. This development stemming from a partnership between Moka Residential Ltd and Hoolooman & Associates is enjoying great market success. Construction will begin shortly and a second phase is already underway!
The Amphitheatre and La Promenade, the pulsing heart of Telfair
What would a city centre be without a vibrant atmosphere all day long? That’s the purpose for which the Telfair Amphitheatre and La Promenade, which runs through the city, were designed. Moka Smart City oversees the development of common spaces and is working to connect the Amphitheatre and Square through La Promenade, which will then become the city’s main shopping and entertainment thoroughfare. It will host unique events for everyone to enjoy!
