The “Jam Apre Travay” sessions cohosted by Oficea and Moka, City of Culture are aimed at providing an opportunity to chill out together while enjoying local artists’ performances.

People working in Moka can head to Zakadi at Vivéa Business Park every second Thursday of the month to listen to music and sip a drink. We zoom in on this cultural and entertainment event, which is already a must-attend!

It is good to be back at the office, especially after too much “work from home”. Meeting up with colleagues has become a conscious choice, that of being around people who add a little spark to everyday life and taking an evening to strengthen ties by talking about culture, not work, in a relaxed atmosphere. There is some good music to set the mood for the Thursday Happy Hour at Zakadi.

This new setting is a meeting place for colleagues to enjoy new vibes and a moment of relaxation and discovery of artistic talent – another reason to consider Moka as “the place to be”.

Moka, the perfect place to work and improve your cultural awareness

Work is above all a human experience and comes down to the dynamics between the people who contribute to the success of a business. It is a relationship that is built through shared passions and moments – including catching up with colleagues for a drink. “We want to create a community of tenants at Vivéa. There is no better way to strengthen bonds than through an event that allows people to meet and chill out. We focused on the music to create a good atmosphere while using service providers in Oficea’s tenant portfolio, like Zakadi and Eastern Trading,” says Oficea’s Community Associate, Estelle Rey.

“The Piazza is actually a major asset for Vivéa Business Park! It was key to setting up this cultural event in the heart of Moka,” says Moka’s Art & Culture Manager, Mathieu Pigeot. “It was the perfect opportunity for us to create a unique musical experience where entertainment and talent meet, because we want these events to have a good proportion of artists worthy of being discovered.” During the first two editions, Lion Klash and Lucky Monkey took to the stage to delight the tenants, which encourages us to look forward to future editions!

A resounding success

The strength of Jam Apre Travay lies in the harmonious collaboration between the Oficea and Moka, City of Culture teams. With the aim of creating a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere, the Culture section, which strives to enhance the city’s cultural life, has lent a hand to Oficea’s team to create this new kind of ‘quality time’. This collaboration is the perfect opportunity for the business community to come together and to bring Moka to life after working hours, reaching out to the largest possible number of people.

However, it was not an easy task as tenants used to go straight home after the work day was over. Especially in winter, when they were not always keen to break away from their routine without any interesting event or meeting place close to their workplace. Oficea therefore chose to encourage its hard-working tenants to chill out, leaving behind the stress of work and daily life to enjoy a jam session. While some employees initially required some extra motivation, they all quickly embraced this new event!

After the resounding success of these first two jam sessions, the teams are continuing their efforts. Their greatest satisfaction is to witness the emergence of a beautiful community spirit driven by “Work in Moka”. So save the date for a voyage of musical discovery with your colleagues or friends, surrounded by your tribe.
