2nd edition of the Moka Decathlon Night Run

The Moka Decathlon Night Run is a fun and sporty event invites you to discover the urban region of Moka under a different light… or should we say moonlight? The challenge? A 10 km long adventure in the heart of the island, under the stars, that’s open to children over 12 years old and adults.

Organised by Moka Smart City in collaboration with the world leader in sports equipment, Decathlon Mauritius, the race is for experienced runners and casual runners alike who would like to take part in a night trail. This second edition promises an electrifying experience with surprises planned along the course, in addition to the animations on the race village.

This night escapade will start at 7.30pm at the Telfair Amphitheatre and will loop through Moka Smart City with a short (fun) stop at Decathlon. Runners will be cheered on by a large anticipated audience.

Registrations are open on ROAG from May 15 to June 30 2023.

The Course

The race will start at the Telfair Amphitheatre with a gentle 1.2km uphill for a nice warmup, heading towards Helvétia. From there, you will turn left towards École du Centre, heading on to A7 road where a rapid 1.2km section will take you to the Mahatma Gandhi Institute roundabout, then onto Leclézio Avenue towards Bagatelle.

At the end of the road, you will turn right towards the Decathlon shop, where a refreshment point will be available at 5.5km. Upon exiting the refreshment point, the newly built flyover will lead you to Bagatelle Motor City. Afterwards, a short but sweet uphill will take you to the bridge and under the motorway.

Upon exiting the bridge, you will take a small path along the motorway and turn left on the grass towards Mahatma Gandhi Institute. Make your way through the Institute’s garden to get back onto A7 road, then turn left towards the roundabout and right towards Helvétia. At this point, you only have to follow the trail path on your left over 300m to reach the finish line at the Telfair Amphitheatre.
