Here are seven things you should know about the infrastructure work that is underway near Moka, making it easier to get around.

Ebène and the M1 motorway connecting to the St Pierre bypass

A new flyover between Réduit and Ebène was built under the auspices of the RDA, contributing to significantly reduce the traffic jams at the Réduit interchange. The Saint Pierre bypass will also connect via Tribeca Smart City, for improved access between Moka and Ebène. This new road is expected to be completed in December 2023.

M3 motorway - St Pierre bypass: new connection & new interchange

Morning slowdowns in Verdun will soon be reduced. A new interchange, located halfway between the Côte d’Or National Sports Complex and the Verdun flyover, promises to improve traffic flow thanks to this quick link that will be connected to the St Pierre bypass with a new road. The end of the work is scheduled for mid-2024.

Vivéa Business Park directly connected to the St Pierre bypass

Get to and from your office in Vivéa Business Park faster! By mid-2024, a roundabout will be built to the south of the business centre on the St Pierre bypass, which will also provide a direct link to the M3 motorway.

The current Verdun interchange is being improved

Travelling to Vivéa Business Park and your other favourite locations in St Pierre will also be more enjoyable. The traffic lights on the A7 road at the entrance to the St Pierre bypass and under the Verdun flyover were replaced by two roundabouts at the entrances to the St Pierre bypass and the village of Verdun. They already improve the traffic flow at this busy intersection

New Verdun bypass

Motorists coming from the east will now be able to access the St Pierre bypass and the various business centres in Moka without having to go through Verdun village. A new road from the village of Alma connecting to the M3 motorway at Verdun and then to the St Pierre bypass was built.

Vivéa: new exit on the Côte d'Or road

The Helvétia district will soon merge with the Vivéa business district, thanks to the extension of the Promenade. Work is on underway on a pedestrian path that will allow some lucky locals to walk to work. This path will allow people to walk between the two districts in just five minutes, and will be completed in just six months! Vivéa and Helvétia will also be connected by a road – initially of gravel – before being connected to the B48 road in Côte d’Or.

New bridge to the west: A1/M1 link road

Residents of Albion, Rose Hill, Beau Bassin, Coromandel and the surrounding areas will have easier and more direct access to Moka. From Chebel, they will join the M1 motorway at Sorèze. This bridge will considerably reduce the traffic from Ebène, Réduit and will therefore be beneficial for Moka! The bridge will be operational in June 2024.

Vinod Goonmeter, Development Manager for Moka Smart City at ENL Property says “Our projects link up with those of the Road Development Authority and the new public road infrastructure – together, we’re developing the region in an efficient and coherent way. Contributing to the well-being of the city’s residents and other visitors is our top priority, with the ultimate goal of improving the city’s accessibility.

These changes will all contribute to making the city more accessible and your daily travel more pleasant, adding to the charms of life in Moka.
