A marquee event on the trail running calendar in Mauritius, the Moka Trail has been attracting an average of 2,000 participants of all ages and backgrounds annually since 2013. After a ‘lighter’ version limited to 500 runners in 2021 to align with health precautions due to COVID-19, the event is back in full swing and shaping up to be an exciting time for sports enthusiasts.
This 10th edition amid breathtaking scenery in the heart of the island is expected to gather some 2,500 participants. Departing from the quaint village of Beau Bois, there will be four different races: Fun Jog (5km), Deux Mamelles (7km), Petit Both (15km) and Grand Pouce (28km).
To make this prestigious sporting event hosted by Moka Smart City more engaging and fun, various innovations have been introduced this year, including enhanced refreshment points, special gifts for participants, entertainment and a few surprises along the race routes. Groups of 10 may also choose to run for an association of their choice, with the winners receiving a donation to the charity they represent.
Don’t wait any longer, registration is open until midnight on Thursday 15th September 2022 (unless the maximum number of 2,500 participants is reached beforehand).
