A Security Hub with cutting-edge technology in Moka!

Moka will have a new Security Hub by late September 2022. It will be located in a renovated building, ideally located in the heart of Vivéa Business Park to ensure the protection of all residents and users of the smart city.

A 360° security system

These headquarters will serve as a control centre to centrally manage security through four main components, including:

  • CCTV cameras;
  • the guarding system;
  • vehicle patrols; and
  • the emergency number.

Security guards will drive around the city 24/7 in two motor vehicles while an emergency number will be available for residents to report incidents. The city ultimately plans to use 500 state-of-the-art cameras to record in real time what’s happening on main roads, in common spaces and hot spots.

Smart technology

This system controlled by CCTV operators will feature smart technology capable of automatically detecting suspicious behaviour, crowd movements or even intrusions.

“The combination of technology and human presence on the ground will enable rapid detection of acts of vandalism and immediate response in the various neighbourhoods, including Bagatelle, Telfair, Courchamps, Helvétia, Concordia and L’Avenir,” says the Managing Director of Moka Smart City Management, Regis Maubernard.

AVACOR which specialise in the field of security, will be responsible for monitoring the CCTV system and carrying out response throughout the city. Residents will also be able to contribute to the security of their city through a 24-hour telephone service.

Security and quality of life

Security is a fundamental consideration for residents and every effort is being made to create a pleasant, better protected and increasingly attractive smart city. Moka aims to improve the comfort and quality of life of residents through professional, efficient and modern methods – and with an eye to cost control. “The new building is scalable and its screen and staffing capacities will grow with the smart city,” says Regis Maubernard.
