 MOKA'S ART & CULTURE MANAGER
Mathieu Pigeot answered our questions about why and how culture is relevant to Moka with great enthusiasm. He also told us about what’s coming next.
Why does Moka Smart City want to become
a cultural destination?
Cultural life is an essential ingredient of a pleasant city life. I believe that art adds to the daily lives of citizens. It brings people together, it celebrates and makes them dream. It allows members of the community to use their collective imagination and therefore serves as a means of integration for the people
of Moka. They are our top priority when developing
the cultural life of Moka.
Art can also transform a city because it enhances the various spaces in which it is expressed (parks, galleries, concert halls, paths, villages, etc.). Public art conveys positive values. It is
a primary focus of the Rezidan project and a great platform
to achieve this. Unlike galleries, the street is open to everyone, which explains the huge impact of art in public space.
Our cultural events are aimed at supporting the interests of the national fabric
and contributing
to the latter.
Those involved in cultural production must work together to offer
a rich and diverse programming on a national or even regional scale.
