Moka Trail: a new race to push your limits!

On Saturday 4 October 2025, the Moka Trail returns for an even more thrilling edition, with 3,250 participants expected, iconic races… and a major novelty: a 10 km course designed for those who want to push their limits.

From Beau Bois to the peaks of Moka, runners will cross three districts (Moka, Plaines Wilhems and Port-Louis) for a unique experience among mountains, forests and endless fields.

Why a new course?

In recent editions, your feedback has been clear: between the Deux Mamelles (7 km) and Petit Both (15 km), there was room for a “middle ground”. This new intermediate route was born from that desire, to offer a challenge that is both accessible and stimulating, helping participants progress step by step.

“We wanted to offer participants a natural progression: giving those who have already tackled the 7 km a new challenge, while keeping them in a relative comfort zone. The 10 km is also perfect for regular runners looking to push their limits,” explains Ketty Lim Ka Lan, Event Manager at Moka City.

A race designed for both fun and challenge

The new race will start from the Race Village in Beau Bois. The first stretch follows the same route as the other races, giving everyone time to find their pace. Then it’s on to the motorway, with the first surprise: a passage through an underground tunnel to reach the other side. Runners will then head uphill towards Bar le Duc, following the chassé, before descending to the river. They will then join the 7 km (Deux Mamelles) route, run through the undergrowth, and head straight to the finish lin

The 10 km not for you?

No worries, the classics are still here! Beginners can enjoy the 5 km and 7 km, while seasoned runners can take on the 15 km or the ultimate 30 km. The Moka Trail offers routes for all levels, whether you’re running solo, with family or friends, or as a team-building activity with colleagues.

More than a race, an experience

Beyond the competition, the Moka Trail offers a unique atmosphere: a lively race village in Beau Bois, smiling volunteers, and supporters cheering on the runners. It’s also a chance to discover or rediscover exceptional landscapes at the heart of the island.

The benefits of trail running

Running in nature is much more than just physical effort. It means:

  • Sculpting and strengthening your body thanks to varied terrain
  • Boosting endurance and cardio through climbs and descents
  • Freeing your mind, reducing stress, and enjoying a real sense of freedom
  • Reconnecting with nature while developing greater respect for the environment

Our partners understand this well and support us every year to promote sport and keep the Moka Trail spirit alive. A special thanks to ER Group, KFC, Reneworld, Crystal, Decathlon, Twisties and Chartreuse.
