On Saturday 21 June 2025, from 7 pm, the Telfair Amphitheatre will come alive with the sounds of the Indian Ocean for another edition of Fet Lamizik dan Moka organised by Moka City in collaboration with the Institut Français de Maurice. A festive, free evening where artists from Mauritius and Réunion will share the the stage.

This annual event has become a major date in the Mauritian cultural calendar, bringing together thousands of people right in the heart of the island. It’s an evening to sing, dance, and feel the rhythm of our musical roots.

As Mathieu Pigeot, Arts & Culture Manager at Moka City, explains:

“For us, Fet Lamizik dan Moka is much more than a concert. It’s a way to bring culture to life, to unite Mauritians around what connects us: music. Every year, we are committed to offering a powerful moment, free and accessible to all, right in the centre of the island. By celebrating artists from here and the region, Moka City reaffirms its commitment to showcasing our cultural heritage and creating open, vibrant, and inclusive spaces for connection.”

Get ready to pik enn ti sega! Désiré François and Cassiya take the stage at Telfair for a show that promises to be as nostalgic as it is electric. For over 30 years, they’ve been making Mauritius move to now-legendary hits sung by generations. Icons of our musical heritage, they proudly carry the torch for Mauritian sega with tracks like Dipain Griyé and Ici, cote nou été.

Saodaj

Réunion-based group Saodaj brings a unique sound to the evening, blending traditional maloya with contemporary music. Led by the powerful voices of Marie Lanfroy and Jonathan Itéma, the group delivers poetic, thought-provoking songs with percussive rhythms, saturated strings and lyrics in Creole and French. Their latest album, Lodèr la vi, is a celebration of life, love, and memory. Expect a deep, captivating performance at Telfair.

Taking their first steps on stage… and ready to surprise you. These young artists, trained in Moka in 2024, are performing live for the very first time. Expect fresh takes on local and international hits. Emotions will run high—for them and for you. And who knows? One day you might say, “I was there when it all began.”

A full F&B offering will be available along Telfair La Promenade, with restaurants and kiosks open for the night. Whether you’re after faratas, burgers or mines, there’s plenty to keep you fuelled between songs!

As for parking—stress-free! Several free zones will be available, including the Telfair underground car park. All that’s left is to enjoy the show.
