Moka’mwad has set up office at Les Kocottes, former poultry houses on a 3.6-acre site that have been renovated and fitted out by Moka Smart City. Find out why this lively place with unique character provides an ideal working environment for the collective and the city’s residents!

About Les Kocottes

Les Kocottes offer favourable conditions for the development of educational, civic, artistic and circular initiatives. With six former 180m² poultry houses, six small houses and 10,000m² of outdoor common areas, every detail is thought out to promote social ties, interaction and learning.

La Kocotte Moka’mwad

The collective will have its headquarters at La Kocotte Moka’mwad, “a place where we will shape the city of tomorrow together to reflect the people who live in it,” says the Manager – Citizen Collective & Events, Ketty Lim Ka Lan.

It will be a multi-purpose space open to anyone providing a value-added activity to the city. In other words, La Kocotte Moka’mwad is the perfect place for you if you have a charity, citizen, educational or environmental project! It will also accommodate the activities of the collective and its partners. Thus, slots will be reserved for Moka’mwad’s training sessions and workshops, including food waste, first aid, organic agriculture and waste segregation.

Ketty says that Moka’mwad will also regularly conduct campaigns on questions of importance for the city’s residents, such as road cleanliness or the relevance of organic consumption.

Let us hear about your ideas

In order to promote closer connections between the people of the city while contributing to its daily life, La Kocotte Moka’mwad is making a rent-free space available to those want to offer quality educational activities. Facilitators must commit to allocate a quarter of free seats at the sessions, courses or training they will offer at La Kocotte Moka’mwad. Preferred activities include language courses, art workshops (photography, singing, theatre, poetry, drawing, etc.) but also DIY (crafts, sewing or cooking). However, this list is not exhaustive and it’s all up to your creativity!

A multi-purpose space will also be available for rent on an hourly basis during free slots for those who cannot commit to a one-year term.

Each room at La Kocotte Moka’mwad will be equipped with a projector, tables, chairs and a whiteboard!
