Moka Smart City places well-being at the core of everyday life, hosting over 300 events annually across its various neighbourhoods. Discover the events that keep the heart of the island alive, bringing together thousands of Mauritians each year.

A packed events calendar is designed to enliven the city and showcase the area to everyone. There is a diverse range of activities for sports enthusiasts, food lovers, culture aficionados and families seeking quality time together.

The Moka Food Festival is a treat for gourmets and foodies alike, attracting up to 10,000 visitors over the past two years to indulge in specially crafted Mauritian delights.

Fet Lamizik dan Moka

Culture lovers are also well catered for, with more than 4,000 music enthusiasts gathering in the lively setting of Telfair for Fet Lamizik dan Moka. A second free outdoor concert is planned to close out 2024. Moviegoers can enjoy the must-attend Moka Open-Air Cinema, where families and friends come together under the stars to watch local and international films.

Moka Decathlon Night Run & Moka Trail

Sports enthusiasts are treated to two now-iconic races. The Moka Decathlon Night Run is in its third year and draws 2,000 runners to Telfair for a moonlit adventure, while the renowned Moka Trail allows 2,500 participants to explore the area’s stunning landscapes.

Year-round happenings

And that’s not all! A host of recurring activities keeps the energy alive throughout the year. Balad dan Moka invites outdoor lovers to discover the best spots in the area every month. 

Art and culture buffs can look forward to Art Talks and Workshops, along with engaging exhibitions. 

For the workaholics, Culture Fridays provide the perfect musical wind-down to the week, while Jam Apre Travay offers a relaxed after-work gathering with colleagues. 

Residents of Moka come together every year to celebrate the spirit of sharing and community at the Neighbours’ Day, supported by the Moka’mwad citizen collective.  

Weekly free classes by Moka’mwad at the Telfair Amphitheatre also provide a gathering space for both locals and visitors.
