Bolom is an old man who has disappeared from a working-class housing settlement in Mauritius. While his son Ronaldo is looking for him, he comes across Ajeya, an Indian immigrant worker. His dream is to lead the life of a golden boy, all she wants is to escape her life as a modern-day slave. Together, their night-crossing of the island takes on a new dimension, halfway between a mystical quest and a search for freedom. Ronaldo is confronted with the multiple facets of his own personality and of the island. Will he listen to his smartphone or trust Ajeya, who tells him about the stars? Will he let his quest for material wealth take over or follow the spiritual quest that lies ahead of him?

A forerunner among Mauritian filmmakers

After returning from his studies at ENSAV in France, the Mauritian author, director and producer set up Caméléon Production. The company produces all his films and various short films by young Mauritian directors.

David Constantin is committed to developing the film industry in the Indian Ocean. He founded the association Porteurs d’Images and Île Courts, the Mauritius International Short Film Festival. Simin Zetwal is his second feature film after Lonbraz Kann, which was released in 2014 and received many awards, including Best Screenplay at the Durban International Film Festival.
