In Moka, innovation is part of the city’s DNA. Once again this year, the City is partnering with La Turbine to support Mauritian entrepreneurs. By becoming an official sponsor of the Turbine Innovation Challenge 2025, Moka reaffirms its commitment to nurturing meaningful ideas for a smarter and more sustainable future.

A launchpad for impactful ideas

Organised by La Turbine, this intensive programme is aimed at project holders, young start-ups and aspiring innovators. The challenge? To develop concrete solutions that address major issues aligned with the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

On the agenda: six weeks of personalised coaching, hands-on workshops and key networking opportunities to transform a promising idea into a viable and tangible project.

Why is Moka getting involved?

Moka City has partnered with the Innovation Challenge to encourage the emergence of high-impact entrepreneurial projects linked to clearly identified challenges. By supporting this programme, Moka aims to back concrete solutions that address the priorities of the SDGs, especially those that respond to the needs of its territory and local communities.

This commitment reflects Moka’s ambition to contribute to balanced development by fostering innovation where it can make a real difference.

What’s in it for participants?

Selected project holders will benefit from:

  • Up to Rs 300,000 in funding to prototype, accelerate or develop their project
  • Meetings with businesses seeking sustainable solutions
  • Guidance from experienced mentors
  • Visibility among investors during showcase days
  • Priority access to La Turbine’s incubation or acceleration programme
