for this year’s Recycling Bottle Challenge.
Moka Smart City once again celebrated
World Recycling Day in style! A total of 109 Mauritians collected 5,500 PET plastic bottles (221kg) and dropped them at Bagatelle Mall, Kendra and Les Allées from 26 March to 16 April 2022. A draw rewarded two participants, Shilpa Maunthrooa
and Wardah Wohedally, who received polarised glasses from Helios Eyewear and vouchers from Winners (sponsored by the smart city). P
Swapping cars for more sustainable choices
X Electric bikes and scooters have been made available to ENL House employees to promote soft mobility. About twenty of them have decided to leave their vehicles in the car park when moving around the smart city and some employees even come to work by bike. Bravo! P

5G is on its way!
X 5G will be available in Telfair by December
2022. The network will then be extended to the Concordia precinct, including Vivéa Business Park, and the entire smart city! The introduction of 5G will boost the use of equipment incorporating artificial intelligence in Moka. It also represents a sound alternative to internet redundancy for businesses. P
Smart lighting in Telfair and Les Promenades d’Helvétia
X Smart lighting will be launched in these areas by late 2022. It has the advantage that it can be controlled remotely on an area or individual basis. Thus, the light intensity can be adjusted as desired, allowing the reduction of energy consumption.
The electricity consumption for each residential area can also be precisely measured. P
Innovation for construction projects
X If you are planning a construction or renovation project, the Moka Urban Planning Portal will be accessible on the web from December 2022 to allow residents of Moka to submit their plans and documents online for approval by the Smart City Management Company. Applications will also be entirely processed online! With this innovation, time saving, continuous “interaction” and owner satisfaction are guaranteed. P
