The Moka Decathlon Night Run is back for a third edition and promises to be more spectacular than ever! On Saturday 9th of November 9, Moka will transform into a nighttime playground, welcoming 2,000 runners ready for an unforgettable adventure.
Organised by Moka Smart City in collaboration with the leader in sports equipment, Decathlon Mauritius, the race is for experienced runners and casual runners alike who would like to take part in a night trail. This year, the Moka Decathlon Night Run will offer a unique experience with a new starting point at Telfair La Promenade. To cap off this memorable evening, participants will finish the race in a festive atmosphere, with a DJ turning the race village into an open-air nightclub.
Between the adrenaline of the race, the entertainment along the course, and the festive atmosphere of the race village, this night promises to be a memorable adventure not to be missed!
The course
The race will start at Telfair La Promenade, where you’ll first circle around the amphitheater before heading into a gentle 1.2 km ascent towards Helvétia to get your legs warmed up. At the Helvétia junction, you’ll take a left turn towards École du Centre to join the A7 road, where a rolling, downhill 1.2 km section will lead you to the Mahatma Gandhi Institute roundabout. From there, you’ll continue onto Avenue Leclézio towards Bagatelle.
At the end of the avenue, you’ll turn right, passing behind Bagatelle Mall towards Decathlon, where you’ll run through the store, encountering a few surprises along the way, and where a refreshment point is set up at km 5.5. After hydrating, a downhill section will help you pick up speed towards the new overpass at the American Embassy. Next, a multi-part climb will take you up to Bassin Canards bridge, where you’ll pass under the highway. Exiting the bridge, you’ll follow a small path alongside the highway, taking a left on the grass towards the Mahatma Gandhi Institute.
You’ll cross the institute’s garden to rejoin the A7 road. Use the pedestrian crossing and follow the footpath that runs behind Shell/McDonald’s. Finally, turn right onto Avenue de Telfair and continue until you reach the chimney. There, a final short climb will bring you to the festive finish line!
Race pack
The distribution of race packs will take place on Thursday, November 7ᵗʰ from 10am to 7pm at Decathlon Bagatelle. Don’t forget your ID card and ROAG reference number.
