The opening in November 2025 of KUASA’s offices will be a great premiere for Moka. The smart city’s first law firm specialises in intellectual property. We invite you to discover this dynamic and engaged organisation.

Two Mauritian lawyers, Anas Rawat and Jason Dewkurun, launched their law firm KUASA in 2017. The word “Kuasa, which means power in Malay, refers to the strong potential of their area of specialisation. Their passion is their greatest strength, and it did not take long for the pair to become a reference in terms of intellectual property in Mauritius. In 2020, their client portfolio in the country already included the giants Apple, Longchamp and Louis Vuitton, among others, and they gained law firm status in 2021.

A glimpse of the future in Telfair

With the level of growth experienced by the firm, its Port Louis offices have become too small for its expansion appetite. “We have chosen to relocate to office space spread over 4 floors with an area of about 2,500m² in Telfair with our partners to eventually accommodate a team of some 125 people,” says Jason Dewkurun, co-founder and Managing Partner of KUASA. “It is a very good thing that Telfair is a forward-looking neighbourhood because we see this space as an opportunity for KUASA to grow and diversify. The harmonious urban planning creates a positive energy flow, and a central location in the heart of the island makes it the ideal place for our future offices.”

This environmentally aware firm also looks forward to carrying out its business in a neighbourhood that is pursuing LEED ND certification. KUASA will take this significant opportunity to continue its expansion plans with the utmost respect for sustainable development. It adds tremendous environmental and economic leverage for this parent company that controls various entities, assuring the convergence of its structures and supporting its capabilities and personnel growth goals.

Protecting authors, inventors, brands…

This is precisely what intellectual property law is about. It is a vast domain that covers copyright, patents and trademarks, etc. to protect the integrity of company brands and the creative work of various artists, scientists and technicians, among others – while combating counterfeiting and plagiarism. This field of expertise promotes originality and respect for all kinds of creative people.

… and more!

KUASA also uses its market knowledge to provide investment advisory services in Africa.

“Efficiency is a value that we share with Moka Smart City. We also identify with and want to share their culture of wellness and balance with our employees,” says Jason Dewkurun.
